Research Interests. My research area is Applied Algebraic Geometry. My work focuses on algebraic methods in optimization, statistics, coding theory and machine learning.

I graduated from Cornell in 2007 under the direction of Mike Stillman and went to UC Berkeley as a Morrey Assistant professor under the supervision of David Eisenbud and Bernd Sturmfels. I was a professor at Universidad de los Andes from 2011-2023. In 2023 I joined the Department of Informatics at Universidad Católica del Uruguay (UCU)
